Film Site Model Undergoes Surgery

Although not too noticeable, the film site model was recently subjected to a little "surgery." Igor Bourtsev in Russia brought to my attention errors in the original (previously published) film site diagram on which the model was based, and provided further measurements given to him by Rene Dahinden back in the early 1970s.
As a result of Igor's findings, it was necessary to shift the background forest, plus a few trees and stumps, back a bit. The revised model is seen here, none the worse for the wear. We can now see even more clearly that at the point the creature turned to look at Patterson and Gimlin, she did the wise thing by continuing straight ahead. Had she gone back the way she came or darted into the background forest, she would have left herself much more vulnerable for a rifle shot.
These images show the main part of the "surgery." Once the new section was added, the appropriate trees and stumps were moved back.
