| Australian Parrots was first published in 1969 and was an immediate success. A second edition with a substantially altered text, was produced in 1980 with illustrations by William T. Cooper. These replaced the tipped-in photographs of the first edition. This final edition has been substantially revised again and has seven additional plates by Cooper including Carnaby's Black Cockatoo and Baudin's Black Cockatoo. In all its forms this is the best book ever written on Australian Parrots and one of the finest Australian bird books ever published. |
