Author Biography: Mr. Clemson was born in Warwick, England in 1907, and emigrated in 1924 to BC, where he has resided ever since. He worked on farms and ranches in the interior - Okanagan, Cariboo and Chilcotin countries, and later in mines and with prospecting parties in the coast range.
In 1932 he married, and settled down to farming in North Okanagan. His hobby of photography developed into a sideline when he began to contribute photo-stories and illustrated articles to periodicals dealing with the rural scene. In his words, he supported his cows by this means until 1963, when, his family all having grown he sold his farm, and he and his wife moved to their present residence at Sorrento on Shuswap Lake.
Mr. Clemson is the author of two other books -- Lost Mine and Living With Logs -- and numerous articles on rural aspects of the interior life and scene. |
