Author Biography: Freelance writer/photographer Dan Fivehouse was born and raised in New York metropolitan area. He attended the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and Columbia University in New York, with major credits in literature, philosophy and technical subjects. Like most independent writers, he has worked more jobs than his 30 years would seem to allow--from bartender to computer programming, from harpsichord salesman to wilderness tour operator. An outdoorsman by avocation and inclination, he left New York in the late 1960's to move to Vancouver to be close to the Coast Mountains.
Now a Canadian citizen, Dan began freelancing both in writing and photography in 1973. His interest in diamonds dates back to school days when he researched and reported on a firm which set industrial diamonds in tools. His interest in the mining industry quickens each time he finds lost coins on the street or hears mention of the word gold. |
