Author Biography: Sophia Ming Ren Leung was born in China, where she received her early education. Her postsecondary education was obtained at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States and at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, where she completed graduate studies in social work. Today she is a full-time medical social worker and is involved in clinical services, teaching, and research. In addition, as an avocation, she has published several works on health care, mental health, Chinese art, and Chinese archaeological finds. Because of her avid interest in painting and art history, she is also an active participant in many community cultural organizations and sits on several boards of directors. She has visited China at regular intervals since the early 1970s, when China opened its doors to the West. |
