Winter confinement. In periods of heavy snow, outside activities are limited to feeding the livestock and cutting down small trees for deer and moose to feed on.
Coast mountain offers beautiful alpine lakes and meadows just a few feet directly above Fogswamp's Atnarko Valley home. A few days set aside for an annual holiday in the open meadows is a much looked forward to treat.
Juvenile Trumpeter Swans have the gray plumage - the adults are pure white. The brownish tinge to the white heads is due to mineral stains from the water.
