Author Biography: Murphy Shewchuk makes his home in Merrit, B.C., where he and his wife Katherine can usually be found when they are not exploring Interior backroads. His career as a freelance outdoors writer and photographer began in the 1960s with Ma Murray's Bridge River-Lillooet News.
Murphy has authored more than 200 magazine features and between 400 and 500 newspaper articles. He has won awards in both categories, as well as for his photography, from the Outdoor Writers of Canada.
Murphy continues to be active with the Outdoor Writers of Canada and the Canadian Authors' Association. He is also a member of several other writers' organizations. |
