| Most of the perennials mentioned are hardy in Eastern Canada and the milder areas of BC, the Northeastern Unites States and the Pacific Northwest. Plants suitable for the Prairies regions are noted also. During the past 10 years, many new varieties of perennials have been developed and are available to the home gardener at most garden centers and nurseries. Wild plants, such as corral bells, loosestrife and black-eyed Susan, have been improved so much that they are now a highlight in many6 gardens.
