Author Biography:

Martin Hollinshead first became interested in hawks and falconry while at school in Staffordshire, England. Since those early days, his involvement in the sport has taken him to several different countries. For some years, he lived in Germany and worked for one of Europe's leading falconry centers in Bavaria. Today, much of his hawking is done among the Shropshire hills, but he also spends part of each season hawking on the continent. When not flying hawks, the author is frequently busy writing about them; his articles have appeared in numerous sporting publications.
