Author Biography

Carol Batdorf virtually grew up with the west coast Indians. She studied their culture and learned to carve totem poles and weave baskets. She has served on the staff of the Lummi Community Action Program and as an instructor of the Indian Studies at Western Washington University. In her Quest series, Carol has accomplished the nearly impossible task of portraying the Salish people as they were before the coming of the white man.
